Ok, so I wrote most of a post on how much I love the Olympics, and I’ll probably post it later. Right now, though, I’m so angry I wish I had something (someone?) to throw across the room.
Please, please pray that my health insurance company starts doing what they’re supposed to do (i.e. help me pay for medical attention) and stops what they’re doing now (i.e. losing papers, processing claims incorrectly, not entering information right or at all, and generally NOT helping me pay for medical attention in most of the ways I can imagine). At this point, there’s not much more I can do to avoid paying a small chunk of money out of pocket for care that should be covered. And pray that I can let it go and let it be their incompetence, not my fault.
Thanks, guys!

I’m sorry, Sarah! I hope it gets figured out quickly. That kind of paperwork snafu is so frustrating.

Thanks, Jess.
Yeah, and then when it happens more than once, you start to wonder which of you doesn’t have your head screwed on straight.

Sarah
man i can’t post some things here but imma tell ya i feel ya on this thing. This is frustrating and it makes you just want to resort to cursing people out over this crap.
I had a recent run-in where i did cuss in public over some screwed up paperwork. Hang in there. You are in my thoughts………….

oh sarah. this is uber-frustrating.
i find that health insurance is a necessary evil & so many of the companies make it super difficult to get the care you need (one might think: i’m sick or in need of medical attention, & they’re here to help me!!, but oh no!! it’s never that easy, is it??).
i’m so sorry dear sarah. i feel all sorts of arghs!! and fraks!! on your behalf. and i will pray (which is much better than hundreds of arghs!! and fraks!!

Ergh! I hate this stuff, too. I hope it gets worked out soon without too much (or any!) out-of-pocket expense on your end.
I’ve been experiencing my own ire and angst about health insurance issues this past month . . . with a $1400 ER bill from St. Thomas to prove it . . . and a $1900 medical deductible not yet met, which means I am responsible for ALL OF IT. Cripes and sheesh-bang! I hate this stuff.

Health insurance has been seriously screwed up since the Clinton era. It’s beyond the point of correction. It needs an overhaul. Blow the whole system up and start over.

Tammy–you know, I usually cuss in private over these things. I did cuss on the phone once (not over this) and i think i got blacklisted
Kirsten–thank you for your args! and fraks! and the prayers. As far as I can tell, medical insurance is required to make you think you’re covered so you spend money, which you later find out is not covered or they refuse to cover.
Christianne–Sheesh-bang, huh? Then again, $1400 from one ER visit? The one you told us about, for your headache? Did they inject solid gold into your head or something (I hope not!!)? I’m so sorry.
Heather–Can I really blame Clinton for this? Well, that makes me feel better at least. Sheesh. And blow it, huh? That sounds like fun, actually. Maybe we can make it a Stealth Op of the Immensely Powerful Cyber Sisters (that’s all of us)
Like the time I thought it would be fun to raid the Scientologist compound outside of Hemet Alias-style and, erm, redistribute their money to other, more worthy causes (like my healthcare). But I couldn’t get anyone to bite on that one…

Hang in there. I know the frustration quite well. Just keep plugging through it and know that it will get worked out.

Thanks so much…yeah, I think it will work out. It’s just…well, it’s just a lot of things. Like, “I can’t get away with doing my job that poorly, so why should they?” and “Why do they insist that it’s my fault when it’s between them and the doctor’s office about documents I wouldn’t normally even see,” but it will work out. One day. Someday. Far, far in the future.
Ok, now I’m just being silly. Thanks, Carl, and praying for you and yours.

Glad it got worked out! Woohoo! That is awesomeness. And yes, my honkin’ bill was for the ER headache visit while we were in St. Thomas, since it included not only emergency services but also a shot in the arm and a cat scan. Blergh!
